Nothing is kept unless you say yes.
Checking a resume, on this site or through the MCP server, keeps nothing. The text is processed in memory to answer you, then dropped. It isn’t stored or logged.
If you choose to save a resume
The resume check can offer to save your resume to help this research. It only happens if you tick the box (or tell your AI assistant yes), and this is exactly what you’re agreeing to:
What is saved
- Your resume text, with email addresses, phone numbers, links, street addresses, and the first line (usually your name) removed
- The field, specialty, and level you checked it against
- Which of the field's words it used and missed
Why
To study how resumes compare with what job posts ask for, and to make Field Notes better. It is never sold, never used for ads, and never used to contact you.
The limits of removing contact details
Removing contact details is automatic and can miss things, like a name written in the middle of the text. Don't save a resume you wouldn't want stored.
How long
Kept for 12 months, then deleted automatically.
Delete a saved resume
You get a delete code when you save. Enter it at fieldnotes.erinkerr.me/privacy to delete your resume right away.
Everything else
The job-post data is public: short quotes from live posts, each linked to its source. The site has no accounts, no ads, and no tracking cookies. The MCP endpoint limits how often one address can call it, to keep it available.
